CARE INSTRUCTIONS
The Carvico fabrics we use, such as Rodi 517 and 390 Vita, are high-quality textiles used primarily for swimwear due to their durability, elasticity, and resistance to chlorine and UV rays. To maintain their performance and longevity, follow these care instructions:
General Care Instructions:
Rinse After Use: Rinse your swimwear in cold, fresh water immediately after each use to remove chlorine, saltwater, sunscreen, and sweat. This helps prevent fabric degradation and color fading.
Gentle Washing:
- Hand wash your swimwear with mild detergent. Avoid using harsh detergents, bleach, or fabric softeners as these can damage the fabric.
- If you must use a washing machine, place the swimwear in a mesh laundry bag and use the gentle or delicate cycle with cold water.
Drying:
- Do not wring or twist your swimwear to remove excess water as this can damage the fabric's elasticity.
- Lay flat to dry in the shade. Avoid direct sunlight, which can fade the colors and degrade the fabric.
- Never use a tumble dryer or iron your swimwear.
Storage:
- Store your swimwear flat in a cool, dry place. Avoid folding it in a way that could create permanent creases or stretching it over a hanger.
- Ensure the swimwear is completely dry before storing to prevent mold and mildew growth.
Specific Fabric Considerations:
- Rodi 517 (the shiny fabric): Known for its excellent stretch and recovery, ensure it is not subjected to excessive stretching or abrasive surfaces to maintain its shape and texture.
- 390 Vita: Noted for its eco-friendly properties and high resistance to chlorine and sun creams, but still follow the general care instructions to preserve its high-performance attributes.
Additional Tips:
- Rotate your swimwear: Avoid wearing the same piece of swimwear two days in a row. Allowing it to rest between uses helps the fabric recover its shape and elasticity.
- Avoid contact with rough surfaces: Sitting on rough pool edges, rocks, or other abrasive surfaces can cause the fabric to pill or snag.
- Be cautious with suntan lotions and oils: These can stain or damage swimwear fabric, so apply them carefully and let them absorb fully before putting on your swimwear.
By following these care instructions, you can help ensure your swimwear remains in excellent condition for many seasons.
