Sustainability
A conscious approach to design, production and quality
COCOMOON's vision
To empower women worldwide while contributing to a more sustainable world through thoughtful and long-term choices.
Slow fashion and timeless design
COCOMOON is a slow fashion brand that creates sustainable swimwear in small, exclusive collections. By producing in limited editions, we avoid overproduction and can instead focus on quality, fit and timeless design.
Our garments are created to be worn season after season. With carefully selected materials and minimalist details, we develop premium swimwear that combines aesthetics, comfort and responsibility. Our designs are free of metal and plastic buckles and underwires, which reduces energy-intensive production and contributes to a longer lifespan.
Production & responsibility
Our swimwear is manufactured in Sweden and Portugal, two countries with high demands on working conditions, quality and sustainable production. By keeping our manufacturing within Europe, we ensure a transparent and socially sustainable supply chain while minimizing the climate impact of transportation.
We choose our partners with great care. Our textile suppliers are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified and actively work towards high sustainability goals.
Materials & ECONYL®
We use carefully selected materials with a focus on quality, function and longevity. Our swimwear is made with fabrics containing ECONYL® regenerated nylon, a recycled nylon fiber made from existing nylon waste such as industrial residues, fishing nets and carpet scraps.
The ECONYL® Regeneration System is based on an advanced process where nylon waste is collected, sorted and purified to regenerate into nylon with the same high quality as oil-based nylon. The result is a durable and high-performance material that is well suited for swimwear.
Many of our garments are reversible and can therefore be made with different materials on each side. In some models, fabric based on ECONYL® yarn is used on one side, combined with other carefully selected quality materials on the other. This allows us to combine function, fit and aesthetics without compromising on quality or durability over time.
Today, approximately 50 percent of our collection consists of recycled materials. Our ambition is to gradually increase this proportion and in the future, have an even larger part of our collections made from recycled or other more sustainable materials.
Packaging
Currently, our swimwear is delivered in e-commerce and garment bags made of LDPE, a recyclable low-density plastic. In parallel, we are actively working towards the next step in our development, to gradually transition to plastic-free and more sustainable packaging solutions.
